| 30 | | From the book - "Greater Terre Haute and Vigo County" Charles P. Walker of IN wrote a family sketch in "Greater Terre Haute and Vigo County" published in 1908 by the late C. C. Oakey. I have a copy of the Galley Proof written in 1908 by Charles P. Walker and and in a letter he states it was in C.C. Oakey's book "A history and Biographical sketch of Mary Citzens" however I have never found this book. Charles obtained most of the information from Joseph S. Walker born in 1826 according to his letters. He stated that Elmore Walker was in the Continental Army and participated in the Revolutionary War, his home being near that his wife and son heard the roar of the cannon. I have never found any proof of this but I believe it to be true. |
